Anxiety, most likely: MS is easy to rule out by history, exam and MRI. Anxiety is state of tension, apprehension, worry, uneasiness or fear. It may be related to anticipated danger or arise for no apparent reason. While mild episodes of anxiety are common and do not usually require treatment, more severe forms can be chronic and debilitating. Some times no treatment is the best treatment. See your PCP for evaluation.

if u have peripheral neuropathy & demylination on ncs does this point towards, or away from, als and ms? i've been terrified that i have als or ppms.

Depends: Peripheral nervous system demyelination is not common for either MS nor ALS.  Nonetheless, if you have had NCS/EMG, it is assumed a doctor ordered it, so perhaps a discussion with the physician would be appropriate.

20yr old female.  has ms.  sudden onset peripheral neuropathy (weak, numb and tingling) lasts up to an hour then resolves. not anxious/ breath. normal?

You need further: work up of the MS symptoms, as those are somewhat classic. Your neurologist, or ophthalmologist, or neuro-ophthalmologist should be following you closely, and keep your primary care doctor informed. Get answers!

perphial neuropathy or ms all my symptoms first pointed to be beginning stages of ms had a mri done of the brain and it wasnt specific enough and have to have 2 more done but the neurologist said that he doesn't believe that it is ms and more like perphia

Autonomic : Autonomic neuropathy can indeed give bowel and bladder problems along with peripheral neuropathy. There are tests that would be done by a urologist to evaluate the nature of your bladder dysfunction. A neurologist would do an electromyographic study to evaluate peripheral nerve function. If you are diabetic or prediabetic you may be developing neuropathy. While ms can cause bowel and bladder problems during the course of the disease, it doesn't usually cause peripheral nerve involvement. Your neurologist will probably request an EMG test along with autonomic testing.

do vision problems like blurry or double vision come and go with ms or do they stick around after they start? at what point should you get glasses?

Optic Neuritis: Vision loss in multiple sclerosis is secondary to optic neuritis, which often resolves mostly if not totally. Color vision and contrast sensitivity may remain impaired even when visual acuity improves. No harm in wearing glasses, but see a low vision specialist to avoid the intellectually-barren "balance lens." Double vision can be due to intranuclear ophthalmoplegia or a cranial neuropathy.

i keep getting dots of different color lights (blue, green, red,  regular light) in my vision. could this be from my chronic migraines or ms? both?

See eye specialist: Although could be due to migraine aura, might be a retinal or vitreous issue, and needs to be checked by ophthalmologist.  Why is there question of MS?

Not always: Many ms pts experience optic neuritis, but some never have eye problems at any time.

See below: It's not "normal" but it is common. Ms patients can have bouts of double vision or bouts of blurry vision (from optic neuritis). If you have vision problems, you need to see an ophthalmologist.

No, not diagnostic: Loss of visual fields can be caused by any condition affecting brain or visual tracts, and it is a test pure and simple of function, not causation.

if a person has ms is it common to not have total blindness, but have delayed reading vision?

Accepted Answer

Poor near vision: One does not have to have optic neuritis with a history of multiple sclerosis.  There are lots of folks who haven't!  after age 40, they may develop presbyopia which is normal for that age. Alternatively, cataracts could form from chronic oral steroid use.
