Eye exam: There are a number of causes of thyroid inflammation.  You should follow closely with your primary doctor/endocrinologist.  In addition, you should see an ophthalmologist for baseline evaluation because thyroid conditions may affect the eyes in some individuals.

i have colloidal goiter and there is sporadic inflammation of my thyroid gland. is there any cure for it?

Some treatments...: Thyroid hormone replacement therapy is used in iodine deficiency. Hormone replacement decreases TSH and lets the thyroid recover. A large goiter that is not improving medical treatment or restricts swallowing/breathing may need partial or complete removal of the gland. If the goiter is making too much thyroid hormone, treatment with radioactive iodine, anti-thyroid meds, or surgery may be needed.

Mumps : mumps virus usually affect salivary glands and equal on both sides, should not be just on a left. Unrelated to Thyroid gland which is much lower, frontal portion of the neck. Are you sure about mumps diagnosis?

Diagnosis: Were you diagnosed by GP or Endocrinologist?  If so, did the prescribe a course of effective treatment?  If not, make an appointment now.  If the homeopathic you are taking is not working, why do you continue to take it?

im 55 and on thyroid for hashimotos for a year, levels are now good exc antibodies keep rising 3.7 & 270. i dont have other inflammation issues (great health) do i stop trying to find a cause/fix?  it does run in my family. what is the end result?

: Anti-thyroid antibodies can exist for two areas which control production of thyroid hormones.  Rising antibodies may cause increased need for thyroid medication to assure normal levels, so further testing for "free T4 and/or TSH" may be necessary.

i started using listerine natural mouth wash, which contains alcohol, menthol, and eucalyptus oil. can this cause salivary gland inflammation/swelling?

Listerine: Listerine is effective at reducing gingivitis however if one has a dry mouth the alcohol can make it drier.  As with ant other product the can be sensitive to some ingredients.  Typically Listerine does not cause inflammation but everyone is different.  Don't use the Listerine for a few days and see how your mouth feels.  If the inflammation persists then see a dentist for an evaluation

Enlarged Thyroid Gla: Thyroid gland gets large due to many different conditions
1 hashimotos disease
2graves disease or hyper thyroidism
3post partum throiditis
4thyroid cancer
once you find clinically large thyroid glandz(goiter), you need to find out the cause, as listed above.

No: The thyroid is in the anterior neck and does not effect lymph glands in other areas.  Nose, face and throat infections will lead to swelling of the "glands" in your neck.  Other thyroid tests in addition to the t4, plus a good physical exam are necessary to determine if your thyroid is functioning normally.
