is it advised against to take 1 packet of vitamin c emergenc. 1000 mg/day? i don't drink any juice, soda, etc.just water and wanted to add that 1xday?

Accepted Answer

Not needed: You can take it with little likelihood it will harm anything. If you take multivitamins then you should be OK. It is not going to prevent a cold as far as we know scientifically. The hydration part helps the most. I would suggest to start drinking juice to help your system.

can vitamin c prevent covid? if i drink hot water with lemon, will it kill the virus?

No: No studies that I am aware of conclude that Vitamin C is effective against Covid19 infection.  Likewise with lemons/hot water.

is loose stool always unhealthy? i drink a lot of water and eat a lot of salad. i also take around 700mg of vitamin c a day

Accepted Answer

Not always: Generally loose stools mean that things are moving relatively quickly through your intestines, which water and salad would encourage.700mg of vit. C is unlikely to affect this. Conversely, hard dense stool has spent a long time transiting the intestines.  In general, it is healthier to have food and waste move quickly thru the GI tract than linger too long, so loose stools are often not a problem.

i have a bitter taste on just my lips. can taking zinc or d3 or prebiotic or vitamin c cause this. i used mouthwash to try and get rid of it but no help. i take alot of medication could that cause it help i can't stand the taste anymore. i drink wat?

: OTC trial by omission. Start with the Zinc. Discontinue it's use for a week. If the bitter taste disappears, you'll know Zinc's the culprit. If taste does not change, restart Zinc and discontinue D3, etc. If you discover the cause, contact your GP to report your findings. DO NOT discontinue any of your prescribed Meds before first getting clearance from your MD/DO

i want to drink 18 shake luxury  meal replacement, it has ascorbic acid vitamin c 18 mg 30 % day value, i take the instant release adderall two times a day, will this protein 18 shake with vitamins especially c make my adderrall less effective?

Gastrointestinal : acidifying agents like ascorbic acid decrease the absorption, &amp;, therefore, the blood level &amp; clinical effect of Adderall, Adderall XR &amp; Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine). See www.drugs.com/cdi/adderall-xr-extended-release-capsules.html. Always tell your doctor before taking new medications, herbs, vitamins &amp; supplements. Long-acting Adderall XR or Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) are easier to dose/ titrate &amp; generally have less "rebound" effect.

High dose Vit C: is no guarantee that you won't get viral infections.  We all get them once in a while.

Interactions: I know of no contraindications with use of iron and vitamin C at the same time.

: Unlikely to be a problem,but if is , don't do it again. BTW, there is really no need to take a Vitamin C supplement .

Okay: What you described is okay.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

i've had a uti for about a week, been drinking lots of water and vitamin c, not working! i have been experiencing really sharp pains in my lower back?

What you haven't: Told us is if you are taking a medication. Water and vitamin c would not erradicate a urinary tract infection. Please see your physician if you haven't already. Take care.
