Alternate: Montelukast works in only 50%  of the people for congestion relief but has little effects on runny nose or sneezing.  Consider a nasal steroid and/or antihistamine.  There is no evidence that doubling up on the montelukast  works better.

You are on: a very high dose of melatonin. What are you taking that high a dose for? You are also on a relatively large number of albuterol inhalations a day. Check w/your doctor to see of changes to your regimen are indicated.

A couple of days: Singulair (montelukast) is a relatively fast acting medication and one should see a benefit within a few days.

i always take ceritizine 10mg and montelukast 10mg nightly. my pcp hasn't sent a refill for my montelukast in two weeks. is there any substitute i can take? would it be alright if i took two doses of cetirizine 10mg? or allegra and cetirizine?

: The two drugs are different in their mechanism of action.  The dose should not be doubled. HTMG offers virtual consultations and you may book an online consult to request a refill of your medication. In the meantime, follow your asthma and allergy plan, avoid smoke, dust, pollen, mold and other allergens. Wash sheets and bedding in hot water and encase the mattress and pillow in dust covers.

is it ok to take primatene tablets? i have really bad allergies and was prescribed singulair (montelukast) two years ago. zyrtec does not help me. symptoms persist and now i also have chest tightness and i squeek when i breathe at night.

Agree : Agree with both answers. From what you describe you probably have seasonal asthma that is not controlled on what you are taking and you need to receive appropriate prescription medication.

Montelukast : Montelukast has been administered at doses up to 200 mg/day to adult patients for 22 weeks and, in short-term studies, up to 900 mg/day to patients for approximately a week without clinically important adverse experiences. I don't recommend that you take more than 10mg at night. There is no indication to go over 10mg.

can i take levocetirizine montelukast and loratidine on the same day?

: We do not  usually advise taking drugs of the same class together ,due to the risk of increased side effects . So in answer to your question, loratadine and levocetirizine are both antihistamines and should not be taken together . However , montelukast belongs to a different class and can be taken with either loratadine or levocetirizine .

i've took 2 10mg montelukast and i've suddenly felt lightheaded... i am only supposed to take 1 10mg tablet a day but i forgot yesterday so thought double dose would be ok..?

: The dose will be cleared from your system, and review your dosing with your PCP. Avoid smoke and allergens. Review your asthma plan with your physician. If you continue to feel lightheaded. a BP check and physical exam are indicated. 
Stay well hydrated.

74% on spirometer after neb treatment was 90% take ventolin 1 puff 2x/day and montelukast. y didn't i get neb to take home also?

Similar: Some studies show neb = inhaler in terms of med delivery. If you aren't in that group, can use a spacer w/inhaler, or can tell your dr not getting adequate relief & request neb. Also should ask about dose, as usually 2 puffs of inhaler, so may not work b/c not enough med.

Yes: Space them out. Take Allegra (fexofenadine) in the morning and take zyrtec and montelukast before bedtime.
