Yes: Yes ... Prozac is not contraindicated with Motrin or tea.  Although the combo together does increase the risk for a GI ulcer - so if try to minimize the use of Motrin as much as possible.  If you need a chronic NSAID therapy, Celebrex (celecoxib) is safer on the GI system.  Hope that helps &amp; that you feel better!

See physician today: Without knowing more detail, if your daughter seems to be having trouble breathing she should be examined as soon as possible. Costochondritis would not cause any of her symptoms

Taking medications:  Regular metronidazole can be taken with food or milk to prevent upset stomach but extended release metronidazole should be taken on empty stomach. Ibuprofen is usually taken with food or milk. Have you been taking these on an empty stomach?  Many ginger ale products don't have a lot of ginger- try nibbling on crystalized ginger, drink a "real" ginger ale or sip on ginger tea.

IT : It depends on the preparation of advil (ibuprofen).  For most of them, it is fine to crush or dissolve the pills.  Many people that can't swallow pills have to do this.  However, a couple of preparations are enteric coated or have timed releases, meaning the coating is meant to not dissolve until the medicine reaches the intestines.  In these pills, it is not a good idea to dissolve or crush them as it messes up their function, but is probably not dangerous.

For other medications, she should really read the labels to make sure it is ok to dissolve them or break them up.  When in doubt, ask her doctor.

Sore throat: a good home remedy is to mix cherry flavored children's diphenhydramine with cherry flavored antacid in equal amounts in a jar or bottle  take a sip as needed to numb the throat.

Few questions:: #1: Allergic to aspirin? Sometimes those folks react poorly to other NSAIDS. #2: How are your kidneys? If they are totally fine, you don't need renal dosing. #3: What other drugs are you taking? Will they interact? Go to my drug interaction link on my site to check. #4: How are you timing doses? If there are no issues, you can take 800mg every 8 hrs, or 600mg every 6 hrs. Max pain benefit at 600mg
