Raw Seafood: It all depends on the cleanliness of the shrimp.  Remember that raw shrimp is very common in japanese cuisine and in most cases eating raw seafood is not of concern.

No harm at all: There&#x27;s no such thing as being overexposed to yeast. Cooking and culinary yeasts (baking, beer and wine making, etc) do not infect humans; no harm no matter how much. Regarding human yeasts like candida, are you concerned about overgrowth or &quot;systemic candidiasis&quot;? These are urban myths. Candida is normal on skin, in our intestines and genital tract). Sometimes local symptoms, but mostly harmless.

Don't: Don, t test yourself with shellfish anymore! you are potentially putting your life in danger everytime you eat it. See an allergist and determine what you are allergic to and get  a Epinephrine auto injector to carry around. For the time being there is no cure for shellfish allergy.

Yes: Food allergies can develop at any point in life.  Peanuts, tree nuts, and shell fish are the most common food allergies to develop in adults.  All food allergies are life-threatening.

No cure: Sadly, immunotherapy (what people call "shots") is not effective on food allergies. 
 There is no cure for allergy. It is a chronic condition that cannot be cured but it can be controlled. It is caused by a defect in the immune system. In an allergic person, their body's immune system mis-identifies benign, harmless proteins as evil enemy invaders intent on death and destruction. 
 For food allergy, the most important aspect is control exposure

Shell fish allergy : Do not treat your allergy carelessly.   If you want to test it then go to a qualified allergist.   Take your shrimp along (no touching of course) and you are the doctor can have lunch.   If you react you will need epinephrine, oxygen, and then Benedryl to recover.   If you don't react you and your doctor enjoyed lunch.  Some doctors may not want you to try due to the risk.   Get an epipen too.

Avoidance: Avoidance remains the best approach since shrimp is not an essential nutrient in one's diet. On occasions, one may be allergic to just one species of shrimp and that may account for your occasional symptoms.  How well the shrimp is cooked may also affect its allergenicity.  See an allergist if you have further questions and are unwilling to give up all shrimps.

See an allergist: For specific testing to scallops. They are not exactly in the same food family as shrimp..So you may be allergic to shrimp but not scallops.

May be fish allergy: You may have an allergy to finned fish.  Finned fish have different proteins then crustaceans and mollusks.  In addition, you may have noticed that you tolerate some finned fish but not others.  Symptoms of  fish allergy may include nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, hives or other swelling, and difficulty breathing within a short period, usually less than an hour, after eating the food.

i had some shrimp tacos and now i'm itchy. took some loratadine, can i still breastfeed my 2 month old baby if i get an allergic reaction?

No contraindication: Okay to continue breastfeeding.  Loratadine also safe to use during breastfeeding.
