Avoidance: Avoidance remains the best approach since shrimp is not an essential nutrient in one's diet. On occasions, one may be allergic to just one species of shrimp and that may account for your occasional symptoms. How well the shrimp is cooked may also affect its allergenicity. See an allergist if you have further questions and are unwilling to give up all shrimps.
