Wait for the OR: As a surgeon the first rule is minimize risk. Having a cold means that you are not in perfect health. The cold can affect your breathing, irritate your lungs and airway. You should not have anesthesia when you are sick. It may be inconvenient but it is much safer.

You : You may want to take about a week off work if you have both a rhinoplasty and septoplasty at the same time. It's best to have the rhinoplasty concurrently as it's very common to use the cartilage harvested during a septoplasty to do some of the rhinoplasty work.

No: Septorhinoplasty entails reshaping your nose cartilage and/or bones to make the nose look better and more straight. It is still your tissues. Rarely a rhinoplasty will include the placement of an implant, but your doctor would tell you about it prior to surgery.

1 year: If you already had a rhinoplasty wait 1 year for swelling to resolve. If there is still a bump that bothers you then see your surgeon for z minor revision.

You'll : You'll probably want to wait at least a couple weeks for swimming. Check with your surgeon to get more specific recommendations.

Rhinoplasty : Rhinoplasty is unable to directly affect your voice production in your larynx. However, if you have nasal obstruction after surgery you could sound hypernasal. Additionally, if you underwent general anesthesia with an intubation (breathing tube placed) you could also have vocal cord injury from this as well.
