Cat urine is the: Real problem - as dander is saliva dries and then can become airborn. When this is inhaled it causes problems for people who are allergic.

i strained to poop today and after 2 or 3 hours i started having pain in the lower lung region when inhaling and exhaling deeply. could the straining have caused this pain when breathing?

Yes: Though it is unlikely, it is possible to strain at stool an rupture delicate blood vessels.  I clot in the lungs can often be painful.  King George II died straining at stool.  See your Doctor now!

Pressure: Belly breathing increases pressure on the abdominal musculature and in the anal area as well. This is a strain type reaction which may account for transient discomfort which I don't believe is serious.

do cf kidshave periods of health? i.e. does their stool ever present as healthy? do they have periods of easier breathing? or are they always sick?

Accepted Answer

Depends: If they are well managed by their pcp and their CF team with meds and therapy, they grow up with a relatively normal childhood. Regular and thorough review is necessary to do so, but a pretty healthy life is possible for the first 2 decades at least ( thats the ones i know the best).

It can.: Their urine contains proteins that some people are allergic to. After the urine dries - the proteins become airborne.

ER Visit: Trouble breathing indicates need for immediate evaluation.  Diarrhea can cause electrolyte disturbances that can be life threatening.   Could also be medication allergy.  You need to either call 911 or go to ER immediately

Eating habits?: If u feel as food stuck, pain burping.. it could be problem with either esophagus motility or acid reflux. Either one can be result of poor eating habits and stool pattern follow as result of upper disturbances. Eat slow, small portions, chew well, drink water., avoid sodas,  More yogurt, probiotics. Avoid  red meat. See MD to check for more serious causes( Dysphagia, IBD..)

squirrels pissing, leaving feces, giving birth in my house walls. how bad is it to be sleeping/breathing in the room if you dont smell anything ?

Exterminator: If they are in your walls that is usually ok, no severe issues, but you need to call an exterminator and get the squirrel problem taken care of, as eventually they may venture out and there is always the possibility of rabies etc with wild animals.  Be safe, be well!

Multitude of symptom: I would suggest visiting with your primary care doctor or an emergency department asap.  You have several symptoms that can be associated with significant disease/illness.  Sounds like you could have several things going on.  Best of luck.  See your doctor soon.  If chest pain is severe or new, you should be evaluated immediately to rule out a heart attack.
