took milk thistle. stomach upset so stopped. same time had flu (not stomach flu) but lost appetite & nauseous esp after food. feels like when my gallbladder was inflamed. have i caused damage?

If gastroenteritis: is ongoing then drink clear liquid like water, soda that is clear, or sports hydration drinks. Sip, sip, sip. Work up to solids w bland foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, gelatin, or chicken. Avoid alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, dairy &amp; high fat foods. Rest. If you are beyond the worst of it and have residual indigestion then you can drink slightly flattened ginger ale or nibble on &gt;

It may take a little: while for your GI tract to completely heal. According to the CDC, viral gastroenteritis usually has a duration of 1 to 10 days (depending on the specific virus). The average is 1 to 3 days. So, seeing a physician is not necessarily required at this time.

If you're referring to postmeal bloating and belching or bile reflux, they may not be effective. Try following a bland, fat free diet, avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and take mylanta 1/2 hour after meals and at bedtime. Take either deliant or zantac daily. See a gastroenterologist as neede

See a Doctor: You need to see a Doctor to rule out emergency conditions like esophageal rupture, heart attack, rib fracture to name a few. Chest pain that is not GI in origin is a dangerous diagnosis. Need to have labs, EKG and Chest X ray to get it figured out.
Severe means Emergency room if your Doctor can't see you and your experiencing bad pain.

Ans: Yogurt is beneficial to the gi track. So this is good. You can take runs but for short time. Best for you to drink water exercise and quit the junk foods and fatty foods
