Schedule follow up: Usually people are feeling pretty normal 9 days after a laparoscopic surgery. If you are still having pain then it is important to schedule a follow up post op visit with the doctor who did your surgery to make sure all is ok.

No: Not likely. Gallbladder symptoms ate generally upper abdomen and right upper abdomen discomfort & nausea after eating fatty foods.

Gallbladder pain: Usually is mid epigastrium or right upper quadrant.  Left side is unusual manifestation of gallbladder pain.  Consult your doctor for other possibilities.

Yes: Many different classes of antibiotics can cause an elevation in lipase as a result of pancreatitis. Macrolides (azithromycin and its relatives), sulfa drugs (like bactrim), quinolones (like levaquin), and some other less commonly used antibiotics have all been implicated. Check with your doctor if there is any concern, and if you should continue the medication (if you haven't already finished).

More info?: Have you had an US of your gallbladder?  Are there stones?  Is your pain related to eating or activity?  Is it worse before a BM or relieved after you have one?  Is this different than your "Gallbladder pain" or is it related?  Some GB pain may be felt not the left and in your back as you describe.  IF the US was negative consider a HIDA scan.  Endoscopy, CT may help.

Many possibilities: Your symptoms are common, but non-specific. Abdominal pain can result from many processes but i will mention a few. A healthy, young female can experience pain in the side and back from gallstones, urinary infection or obstruction, normal menstruation, appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy, kidney stone, trauma, tumor, and many more. The ct and urine tests are a start, but more investigation needed.

44 yo f. i have had pain in right rib upper side and around back shoulder blade area for 2 weeks. not severe pain , no fever, nausea, vomiting. im thinking gallbladder. is it possible to have gallbladder pain for this long? i have a us next week?

: The pain could be from the gallstones and subacute cholecystitis or from the liver (hepatalgia). We can be more precise with a physical exam. Please patiently wait for the liver and biliary tract ultrasound next week. In the meantime if pain gets worse, especially after a meal or fever develops, you should go to ER.

Take it out: The only definitive treatment for gallbladder symptoms is surgery to remove your gallbladder.  If your symptoms were not that bad and less frequent you could try to limit your fat intake and your gallbladder might contract less which might cause less pain,  however, if your attacks are really bad and becoming more frequent or even constant then the only option is surgery.  See your doctor for exam.
