No: The risk of staring at the sun is with the open eyes as the light could be focused on the retina and damage the light receptors.  It is annoying to have the sun shining for a lengthy period on the eyes, and that is why those sun shields which look like two cups held together with a connecting rod are so popular on the beach.

: This suggests the muscles controlling where your eyes point are not working in harmony. The potential causes are many. I would contact your doc and get evaluated as soon as possible. This is worrisome.

General health?: Sometimes vision changes can be caused by high or low blood sugar - it is important to be tested for diabetes. Also, sometimes thyroid disease can cause eye changes. Try to avoid too much caffeine and concentrated sugars and see if that helps.  Also, it is common in the 40's for the lenses of the eyes to lose the ability to change focus, so I would recommend another eye exam.

i watched the eclipse of the sun with bare eyes last week sunday in africa. since then, have been having blurred vision. how do i fix this?

Exam needed: You should see an ophthalmologist for an examination. You may have damaged the pigment layer beneath your retina within the center of your vision (foveomacular area). An exam can help to sort this out. Unfortunately some people who develop solar retinopathy don't fully recover their baseline vision. Treatment may involve a short course of corticosteroids. eyes are constantly dry but sticky and after a while of being awake they burn and i have to blink excessively. it likes to stay closed, blurred vision?

Dry eyes: You probably have dry eyes and possibly a co-existing allergy given the "sticky" eyes.  Start by using artificial tears at least 4 times a day. If they are still "sticky" try an over the counter antihistamine eye drop. If still no resolution see your ophthalmologist.

i had blurry vision after mri with contrast of head and orbits. i had my eyes closed the whole time. the blurry vision lasted 1 hour. why?

: It can be a side effect of the MRI with contrast. Symptom should be transient and non recurrent. Take care.

i have a problem with my eyes.my vision is clear, however, my eyes are  painful,  dry ,red and often feel like i haven't slept or i swam in salt water.they are also sensitive to light(sun and computer).should i consult an optometrist?

Dry Eye: It could be dry eye syndrome, however consult of a professional is always of value. You could however you could try Tears drops twice or three times a day. Good Luck

: Fever per se does not affect vision. The cause of fever may affect vision. What you described suggest floaters, that are common. If there has been a change in floaters or if you have flashes of light, it would be prudent to consult a ophthalmologist.

Temporary: Your vision will recover from the crying.  Crying removes the mucous from the surface of the eye making it dry.  This blurs the vision.  The mucous layer will recover in a day or so.
