You can get GI upset: if you aren't used to eating fiber and eat a significant amount of it. Plan to drink plenty of water when you ingest fiber.

Not usually: Most fruits contain some degree of fiber, so, if anything, i would expect eating a lot of fruit to actually have the opposite effect.
