Soft stools: Fiber provides bulk to the stools but doesn't soften them much. Stool softener a like Colace have a mild effect. You should be taking stone fruits and their juices, consider PEG 3350 once or twice daily, milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) once or twice daily. Your doctor can help provide guidance.
