ct scan shows small calcific densities measuring 3.5mm in the right lobe  of thyroid gland. any suggestions on what this could be please? i had breast cancer in 08 but no mestateses and n full remission w br ca. tysvm! i love you guys.

Many things: Thyroid calcifications are relatively common. Some of them are an indication of thyroid cancer. The first thing to do is to get a neck ultrasound, which is better than ct in visualizing the thyroid, and thyroid function tests.

See below: Certain types of microscopic calcium deposits seen on mammogram can represent early stage of non-invasive breast cancer such as dcis (ductal carcinoma in situ) or lcis (lobular). Lcis is not cancerous but  considered pre-cancerous. Non-invasive cancers treated with lumpectomy surgery & sometimes hormone & radiation treatments.

i had cancerous calcification on my right breasts. i also had a lumpectomy and radiation, but why is the cancer coming back?

We Wish We Knew: There is nothing more frustrating than cancer recurrence, especially when one is given a "clean bill of health" after treatment. Unfortunately, some breast cancers can recur--if its in the breast alone, a mastectomy may be necessary; if its elsewhere in the body, this requires chemotherapy. Depends: Calcifications do not change the treatment of cancer. Finding them on a mammogram or other imaging study can lead to the right  diagnosis (not always cancer btw). The real treatment depends on what is found on biopsy and other studies.

Unclear question: Calcification in breast is not normal. Calcification does not turn into cancer, cancers get calcification. Talk to the doctor who ordered the imaging.

Yes and no.: There are two general types of breast cancer that can be associated with calcifications: in situ (non-invasive) breast cancer and invasive breast cancer. The goal is not to remove the calcifications, but to remove the tumor. Depending on the type of cancer you have, breast-sparing surgery may be an option. I suggest you consult a breast surgeon to discuss your options.

Oxymoron: Microcalcifications are usually described as either punctate (benign) or pleomorphic (in determinant to suspicious) not both.  Ultimate definitive diagnosis may require tissue sampling that is best done via stereotactic guided core biopsy.  See a breast surgeon for further evaluation.

No usually benign: Calcifications due to fibroids which are benign.

stage 2b idc breast cancer, triple positive. us shows 6mm thyroid nodule with calcifications next to carotid. should i insist on fine needle biopsy?

Depends: This condition is unrelated to your breast cancer history. Ask your doctor what concerns or not are registered by the radiologists. Some type of thyroid calcifications are more likely to be benign. 6mm thyroid nodule is small & need to know risks of trying biopsy near carotid artery too. The doctor who ordered the study would know much more to help you than is able to be reported here.
