If still unsure, seek pro-evaluation and counseling. Sure!: Any stress, illness, or change in your routine may affect menses. You would think that a bladder infection would not  directly affect your period, but there is the mental stress, the physical pain, perhaps the antibiotics, or other factors that affect you. Antibiotics could affect your birth control pills, so use a back-up method of birth control. Everything is connected: mental and physical.

UTI: Either the bacteria that is causing the infection is resistant to the antibiotics, or there is a recurrent cause of the infection such as intercourse. If a urinalysis and urine culture have been done and confirmed a bacterial infection then there would be a list of antibiotics that the bacteria is 'sensitive' to, and some that it is 'resistant' to. Make sure you're on the right one.

Have you consulted: a urologist yet? You definitely would benefit from a comprehensive work up - looking at post-void residuals and seeing if you have retrograde urine flow which would set you up for recurrent UTIs. Are you sure you don't have interstitial cystitis? Have you received results from urine cultures? Are you getting right antibiotics or are bacteria strains drug-resistant? Lots unknowns. Need further care
