UTI: Either the bacteria that is causing the infection is resistant to the antibiotics, or there is a recurrent cause of the infection such as intercourse. If a urinalysis and urine culture have been done and confirmed a bacterial infection then there would be a list of antibiotics that the bacteria is 'sensitive' to, and some that it is 'resistant' to. Make sure you're on the right one.

Need tests: Recurrent UTI needs testing to find out the reason behind it.Generally sonogram of kidneys, cystoscope, urine cultures. If all the tests are negative then you need long term suppressive anti bacterial treatment to regain the local bladder wall immunity to fight the future infections. Please see a urologist. Zk.
