: Unless you has history of G6PD, you can take azo when breasfeeding a 2-month-old boy. Boy's urine may change to orange color too if he absorbs enough azo from your milk.

RX / BreastFeeding: Perhaps it is the time to wean your baby while taking strong rx for uti.  For safety reasons, take only for a short time.

2-3 days at most: but since Azos are cleared well by the kidneys.  Be sure to monitor the symptoms to make sure you have cleared the infection.  These things tend to come back if not treated with a broader spectrum antibiotic.  Good luck and congratulations on committing to breast feeding your baby.

Clariththromycin: may not be the best choice for your current infection. because it is excreted in breastmilk &amp; can cause a baby to have diarrhea, rash &amp; sleepiness. If you took 500 mg. of long-acting Clarithromycin,it would take about 45 hours for your body to eliminate it all, but, as you take subsequent doses, the level of it builds up in your bloodstream. Ask your doctor if there is a safe alternative.

hello! i took one dose of azo (2 pills) and i didnt realize that you couldnt take it while breastfeeding. i normally only feed my son at night , so will i be able to still feed him by 9 if i took the medicine around 10:15/10:30?

: No it would not be out of your system for 48hrs. Pl find another way of feeding. Pl- do not take ANY medicine while pregnant or lactating without consulting your doc. good luck
