i have 24/7 headache in forehead. dr said tension. mri was clean. i sleep with fan in my face all night. could it be the cause or making worse?

Persistent headache : Does it occur in cold weather too? Does it go away with tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen? Do you have stuffy nose or nasal allergies? Is your B/P ok,  did have an eye exam lately? I don't think the fan has anything to do with it.  Try to sleep without the fan one night &amp; see what happens  may be it dry your nasal mucosa, use aline nose drops before bed time. If they persisted consult a neurologist . Good luck

Saline: Hard to answer.  There are plenty of good medications with low side effect profiles for non-allergic rhinitis.  The key is determining why rhinitis is occurring and to choose the optimal treatment regimen.  Saline irrigation is beneficial in most cases and is not a medicine, could start there.

can tmj jaw dysfunction cause one-sided headaches, a strange neuralgia behind the mandible, and ringing in the ears all day? this started as just an ear ringing, but now the jaw/head are involved. i wear a mouthpiece at night?

Pseudo tumor : will produce positional headaches ( with reclining )  This can also occur with raised intracranial pressure due to mass lesions. Sinus headaches and headaches in the setting of HTB can also worsen with reclining

can a lot of stress cause headaches (slight/tingly, not all day long) they never happen when i'm busy, only in the morning or at night?

Stress: I strongly recommend you set up an appointment to see a Psychologist. No, you are not crazy but you appear somewhat concerned.
Listen to the doctor and you will relax quite a bit. May take more than one clinic visit but well worth it.

Headache log: You might try keeping a detailed headache log. This should include the timing, careful descriptions of the location, type (sharp, dull, throbbing, etc) and severity of the pain (1-10) and what you were doing/eating, etc right before. And don't forget to include what you did about it and whether or not it worked. Take this to the doc when you go to get checked out and it should help a lot.

See your doctor...: There are so many potential causes for chronic headaches; you need an exam and more thorough history taken by your physician to help direct further evaluation and testing.  It would help if you kept a headache diary prior to that visit (when headache, where hurts, what made it better, food/activity for the day).  Good luck!

Hard to say: However, if if only happens once a year and is short lived, it is not likely to be too dangerous.  If pain is severe, or lasts more than an hour or so or you have stiff neck with it you would need to be seen.  Some headaches come on with orgasm.  Again, not usually too dangerous but should be seen by a physician.

Worrisome...: If a headache is bad enough to awaken you from your sleep, or is very severe, whether frontal or other part of scalp (there are no pain fibers in the brain!), you must see your physician.  Most presume a headache is just a headache. But if never evaluated/worked up for causes, particularly if pattern changes, or become more severe, it needs to be. Must rule out brain tumor. If no cause found, rx.
