i have grade 2 internal and external hemorrhoids - how often should i get a colonoscopy?

No need: You should not have colonoscopy just for hemorrhoids. Some times bleeding in cancer of colon and rectum is attributed to hemorrhoids. Anoscopy and proctoscopy in doctor office is enough for it.

i had a colonoscopy last yr it was neg. i have internal/external hemorrhoids, today i have diarrhea and every time i wipe there's a lil blood worry?

No: You are young to have had a colonoscopy, and with negative findings, the blood is likely due to the hemorrhoids.  Unless you have a strong family history, you should have a course of dietary changes to increase fiber and water intake to soften stools.  If this fails, you may need to see a general or colorectal surgeon to have the hemorrhoids removed or banded.

Can take up to 2 wks: Most important, is prevention of these hemorrhoids. Often times it comes as a result of constipation, or not drinking enough liquids. If you're using any prescription like Proctofoam HC right now to bring relief, that will get you through this healing. However, the best  advice is to do regular exercise like walking, eating a high-fiber diet, drinking enough liquids, and not holding your stool in, and pooping at least 2 to 3 times a day. This would help in your preventive efforts.

Yes.: Because hemorrhoids usually cause bright red blood, not positive FOBT.  You also need to make sure the blood is not coming from upper gi tract.  Consult with your gi specialist.

Yes...: You can have problem with gas, perforation, infection also.

Depends on symptoms: All patients have hemorrhoids.  Only those with symptoms are treated.  Specifically, for bleeding, you can be referred to a colon and rectal specialist for rubber band ligation or other outpatient treatments to treat hemorrhoids.  Most topical creams can help treat pain if that was the issue.  Sitz baths are very soothing as well.

Not a big problem...: ...and in fact the colonoscopy will help define the extent of your hemorrhoid problem and may offer treatment options. Of course, share your concern with your doctor before he/she proceeds.

Warm baths: If hemorrhoids only seen by colonoscopist with  no associated symptoms then no treatment suggested.  If there are mild symptoms, a rectal cream or warm soaks can help.  If more symptomatic with pain and bleeding, resection or rubber banding would be needed.

Colonoscopy: The bowel movements can irritate your hemorrhoids. You can try a cortisone cream to decrease the irritation and also coat the hemorrhoid with desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) cream as a barrier before starting your bowel prep.
