Where?: First off, calcium deposits seldom form in feet, except for calcification of blood vessels. Bone deposits can develop in areas of pressure or traction from ligaments. These can hurt due to local inflammation and usually respond to relieving the formative stress.

Heel Pain: The two most common reasons for heel pain are plantar fasciitis and a bone spur.  Your podiatrist can sort this out for you.

Feet change : Feet seem to change after pregnancy and delivery( has to do with the relaxin in the system during delivery)
also the wt gain of preganacy is an issue as is the extra work of being a new mother 
get your vit d level checked  you want it at >50 
and go get some comfortable shoes at a good shoe store that can help you get fitted well

Sounds like: They may have been implying you have a heel spur. Is this what they said? Try wearing arch supports, apply ice to the region, a night splint when going to bed....Stretch your achilles' tendon. If all else fails see a podiatrist.

i know had a bmp as pre-op to foot surgery, b/c i was taking spironolactone. does that test measure calcium? would i have been told if not normal?

Altho labs vary,: a BMP (basic metabolic profile) almost never measures calcium levels.  However, it DOES measure those chemicals that are relevant for someone using spironolactone, in particular, your potassium (K+) level.  If you want to know your calcium level, you could get a "comprehensive metabolic profile."  Dr. Anne.

can the tingling sensation/ like a shock be dangerous? in hands/ feet? i have anxiety meds. my calcium level is a 7 and low. working with dr to fix

Watch heart!: Low calcium can affect electical conduction in muscle and nerves. That is probably causing your symptoms. Taking meds to help anxiety will help your anxiety symptoms too. Talk to your doctor about low dose celexa (citalopram).

Low magnesium: This can cause tingling, muscle aching, twitching and spasms.  The type of magnesium you would want to take would be magnesium malate or magnesium glycinate for good absorption.

would too much calcium supplement cause feet and legs to retain fluid?

Accepted Answer

Possible: You would have to take massive amounts of calcium to cause this because you can not absorb much more than 500mg at a time. The rest would be passed out in your stool. However, some calcium supplements have lead contamination which can cause kidney  problems and thus fluid retention. Be sure that any supplement that you take is independently tested for contaminants (most are not.).
