Calcium : Calcium deposits usually occur in tendons at their insertion onto bone this is typically a response to overuse or chronic irritation.

Some possibilities: Include: 1) the build up is in the arteries. This would reduce elasticity of the artery. 2) can be in t he tendon, more common in the achilles. Again, this would reduce elasticity of the tendon. This sometimes causes pain and other times is an incidental finding on xray.
