Seroma: Majority of time six months is enough time for seroma to resolve. At this point it can safely be aspirated if resolution is not satisfactory. How it should be done depends on comfort level of surgeon. It can be done with or without ultrasound. With ultrasound is somewhat safer.

Usually : A seroma is a fluid collection that forms in body spaces, such as where a hernia bulge was present before surgery; the larger the hernia, the higher the probability of a seroma forming. This is typically reabsorbed within weeks after surgery, although underlying mesh may slow this down. Rarely, it persists for months and may require aspiration.  I advise you to return to see your surgeon.

me- hiatal hernia- i take 40 mg omeprazole x2/day. i take dbl what dr. rx. i still have a lot of acid reflux even with that dose. i don't want surgery with mesh involved so what are my options? because i am miserable every day.

Accepted Answer

: Eliminate caffeine and nicotine from your diet as these aggravate reflux. Never lay down for at least an hour after eating a meal, snack or drinking fluids. Keep a food diary to select and remove any foods/snacks that may be followed by increased reflux.

Some are related to the detachment itself and others can be related to the surgery.  For example, a cataract after retinal surgery is a common problem that causes visual deterioration and is related to the surgery.

If a retro bulbar infection for anesthesia is done this may cause some short term 
 diplopia.

Depends: Is the double vision only in  the operated eye? ( when other eye is closed?) as long as the iol  was properly inserted , cause could be as simple as refractive error and corrected with glasses. Ask your operating surgeon at your next visit.

No effect: Muro 128 can be useful for eye dryness.  It will not alter the effect of LASIK vision correction.  IF your ophthalmologist indicates that you need Muro 128, then use it as directed.

Depends: The goal of Chiara surgery is to restore the normal pattern of CSF flow &amp; thereby prevent further deterioration of the visual (&amp; balance) symptoms of the ACM malformation. Whether this helps existing symptoms depends on how long those symptoms have been present, the type of surgery contemplated, it's success rate, age, &amp; underlying factors. It's a question to ask the neurologist who knows you best

dad had temporary 'white out' of vision following daily eye drops & laser surgery to reduce pressure.  is this serious? what causes it?

Visual White out: A brief or transient loss of vision, whether it is a blackout or white out, can be quite significant. The differential diagnosis could be a special kind of migraine, seizure, or a significant condition involving the "blood supply" called amaurosis fujax. 
Transient visual loss can be due to a varied group of disorders, some  can be benign and others dangerous. Get him back to his doc.
