ive just had a mini tummy tuck with lipo of flanks. im 10 days post operation. when i sit my lower belly now makes a roll of fat over the incision and the incision tucks in. othis normal due to swelling? will it go down to make a flat belly?

Could be Peptic Ulcer or something called GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease), plus... 'Burning sensation' is not pleasant; but most causes are easy to treat/ manage. See your GP.: This is certainly not normal!  We cannot give you a definite answer without knowing a lot more details about your symptoms &amp; your history.  see your GP.  In the meantime, avoid caffeine, alcohol, acidy &amp; spicy foods.  Try a liquid antacid to see if it helps.  Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen. Only use acetaminophen (panadol) for pain.  If you have increasing pain, black or bloody stool to ED

how do i cope with insomnia anxiety and depression im not on any medication im constantly feeling nauseous a burning sensation in my tummy/butterflies cant sleep at all. freak out with loud noise especially kids screaming etc ?

Start w med eval.: It may uncover underlying medical problems that need to be addressed. Cognitive Behavioral therapy can be effective. Psych meds may be indicated. Aim for daily exercise, 8 hrs sleep /night &amp; good nutrition w 5 servings of veggies &amp; 4 of fruit per day. Try tai chi, yoga, Qi Gong, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing exercises or meditation. Take care.

Probably reflux gast: Alcohol is notorious for causing excess acid production &amp; reflux. These would explain the burning symptoms you experience. NO imaging test can detect reflux, since it is a physiologic problem (in the way stomach functions) not an anatomic one. The best test is the Bravo probe, but other esophageal pH monitoring techniques are possible. Have your doc use it to confirm diagnosis &amp; get treated soon!

Suspect reflux: Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) or heartburn can cause symptoms of burning in the throat and in the chest. Caffeine (in coffee, tea, chocolate) as well as alcohol, smoking and stress can all open the muscle that prevents acid from the stomach from entering the esophagus or swallowing tube causing the heartburn. Too much caffeine can also cause excessive stomach noise.

Relief from Pyrosis: Can have symptoms w/o damage. Avoid foods & behavior that delay stomach emptying &/or relax the lower esophageal sphincter--spicy, greasy food, mints, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, tomato-based products, caffeinated & fizzy drinks, eating before bedtime. Lose weight. Elevate head of bed on blocks. Use otc acid blockers for relief (h2's: tagamet, zantac, (ranitidine) pepcid; ppi's: prilosec, prevacid, zegerid).

Exam advised: Lower left discomfort can be caused by irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis of the descending colon or inflammatory bowel disease, but I would expect some bowel symptoms as well. Pelvic inflammatory disease or ovarian pathology are other possibilities especially if there are no bowel symptoms. I recommend seeing a physician for evaluation and any appropriate testing or referrals to specialists
