Could be nerve issue: One possibility is nerve irritation in the elbow causing hand and finger symptoms. Your doctor can examine you and determine what the problem is.

Neuralgia: It sounds like nerve irritation that could be coming from either a central location (cervical spine) or a peripheral nerve issue (ulnar, radial, median).  Ligament and muscle issues could also be considered.  An examination should be able to help you sort things out.

i have constant burning pain under left elbow on back of arm/forearm with all range of motion over a month. no injuries, swelling, or bruising. have a desk job, no lifting. what could it be & what would help?

Nerve pain: Sounds like nerve pain due to possible cubical tunnel syndrome. Physical therapy and nerve membrane stabilizers like gabapentin may be beneficial for this type of pain. However there are other causes that can present like this (i.e. - shingles)

Yes: It is possible.  A vascular ulstrasound is diagnostic.

Tricky pain!: Although the symptoms could be due to a pinched peripheral nerve (ulnar radiculopathy), there could be a more serious cause.    Anginal pain (pain from the heart not getting adequate blood flow/ oxygen) can occur between the shoulder blades and affect the arm.   Even a tear in the thoracic aorta can hurt this way.   I don't know your age or risk factors; an emergency physician can sort this out.

Vague: Depending upon the duration of your issues, i would see a dr. Asap whom may refer you to a neurologist.  You may need some tests done.  Could be a pinched nerve, but impossible to tell without a history and exam.

i am 76 years old with osteoarthritis. i have burning pain on both shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands knees, ankles. i have over the counter naproxen sulfate 220 mg and aleve 220 mg. how many of these can i take in the am and pm safely?

: Naproxen and Aleve are the same, an NSAID which carries major adverse effects with daily use for people at your age. For osteoarthritis you should use only Acetaminophen as needed and try Turmeric supplement for 3 months. If you have so much pain and want to use an NSAID, Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) is safer but only once in a while.
If possible, please join a Tai Chi class, it will be helpful.

What did you do?  : Did you hit the area?  Probably your dominant side and how much have you overdone with this arm. Sounds like a tendinitis. Try icing and tasting the arm. Takes several weeks to resolve

Tendinitis: Most times burning pain in the elbow w/out a history of trauma is tendinitis.Occ. The ulnar nerve(funny bone) can get irritated and cause burning pain esp.If your pinkie or ring finger get numb or tingle.Tendinitis responds to nsaids, rest from offending activities(power grip), ice massage etc. If no improvement see your orthopedic surgeon. Usually tendinitis: 'burning' avbout the elbow w/out trauma is usually tendinitis.Occassionally the 
'funny' bone(ulnar nerve)on the inside of the elbow can cause this as well esp if u get numbness or tingling in your pinkie and/or ring fingers.Try a NSAID for a week or two if no improvement see your orthopedic surgeon.Best of luck!
