Be seen: Would likely need exam to determine cause as there are many possibilities.  Among the more common causes of pain in that area are a neuroma, callus, deformity such as in a hammer toe, stress fracture, synovitis to name a few possibilities.  A podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon or even your primary care doctor could likely tell you the cause and appropriate treatment options.

Burning sensation: Is suggesting a peripheral neuropathy or a local nerve being compressed. Would suggest having a local exam with your doc and possibly seeing a podiatrist as needed. Otherwise a typical joint affected by gout.

how long one is supposed to take 40mg febuxostat to keep uric acid levels below 6?? mine usually increases again after 1.5 months, i dont suffer from gout but i have stiffness in my right foot joints accompanied with burning sensation in thumb joint?

: If you have to use febuxostat for controlling high uric acid level you have to continue for the rest of your life unless you are able to keep uric acid intake to a minimum which is not easy. The medication probably has full effect after 2-3 weeks of taking it. If uric acid is not lower than 6 after 2-3 weeks, dose needs to be doubled.

Could be a nerve: An affected nerve can cause burning: either entrapment, trauma, or neuropathy.
The formation of a callus while weightbearing may also cause burning in this area.

Burning: Is usually a symptom of a nerve problem. The most common nerve problem that only affects 1 or 2 toes is a neuroma, a benign thickening of a nerve. A joplin's neuroma affects the big toe and is treated by injections to shrink it or surgery to remove it. You may be getting irritation from shoes that could have caused this. See a podiatrist. If you start to smell smoke with that burning.... Run!

Burning pain: Yes you should have it checked. Please have someone take you to the Emergency facility. It is most likely they will not remove your nail!

So more history and details needed , but more important needs to be examined by a doctor, many other things can cause as well. Sometimes the body is giving you a warning to get medical attention to prevent further complications.

Neuropathy: It sounds like neuropathythere is a nerve that inervates the dorsal foot and branches to the medial aspect of the big toe. Try vitamin B, and or a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as Naprosyn ofr Motrin.Also examine your shoe gear to determin if your shoes are too tight and are putting pressure on the nerve.
