Burning pain: Yes you should have it checked. Please have someone take you to the Emergency facility. It is most likely they will not remove your nail!

Exam, Exam.: The best thing to do now is to have your toe evaluated by a specialist familiar with the anatomy of the toe. Burning is usually a sign of nerve irritation. The question is at what level is the irritation on the digital nerve. Even with specialists that are experts at toe anatomy, this can be challenging. Now is the time for a defined examination of the injured toe.
