Most common : Causes of pruritus ani are caffeine and excess moisture. There is no correct amount of caffeine, so best to totally eliminate it for several weeks and allow area to heal, then reintroduce caffeine slowly to find your threshold. Also corn starch powder to bottom frequently and liberally helps with the excess moisture. Avoid chronic use of steroid creams!

Need time: Any ano-rectal surgery needs at  least 3 wks to heal., wait couple of wks, speak to your doctor.

The other causes are
anal fissure
rectal and colonic polyps
cancer of colon or rectum
diverticuar condition
if you have fresh blood in stool you need a colonoscopy.

Prob not: Given age and symptoms, sounds like hemorrhoids which is diagnosed by external examination of anus or anosopy. Given the pain, you prob have external (versus internal) hemorrhoids. Eat more fiber (you should never strain with defecation). If bleeding severe or persists, see our doctor.

: At your age it is almost certainly a hemorrhoid.  Best to have a GI doctor check it out and see about removal since it is bleeding and is causing you to worry.
