Fatty liver.: I’m not aware of a direct correlation between fatty liver and sepsis. Having a fatty liver is not known to suppress the function of the immune system, and should not make you more prone to infections that would lead to sepsis.

Can happen: Multi system failure in sepsis is more common than any physician would like.  It is ominous and difficult to treat.

since 2017 - appendix cancer; severe pancreatitis; addisons disease; 3rd stage kidney failure; cirrhosis of the liver; septic shock w/adrenal insufficiency. and again sepsis w/adrenal insufficiency. only specialists see me. any recommendations?

Treat the cause: The cause of the sepsis must be the primary objective of treatment. Treat the cause and the other problems with resolve themselves.

if someone develops septic shock after a liver abscess ruptures, is it possible to survive?

Accepted Answer

Yes: When a liver abscess ruptures, the person can go into septic shock.  The person may need emergency surgery, and acute care in an intensive care unit with antibiotics.  With proper treatment, the person can survive.

husband has liver fibrosis and got out of hospital for acute liver failure, septic shock. drinks two shots of vodka per day. is this an ok amount?

No: No amount of alcohol is okay for a person with liver disease.

what is this bubbling feeling on my right side just under my ribs and above my hip ? i feel the bubbling/gurgling in my liver area and going around to my back side as well?

: If the feeling is new and bothersome, one should see the PCP first and consider the Gastroenterologist  Consult as well.

this morning my pee had large ampunts of protein in it (lots of bubbles) and now my stool was just black should i be worried about my kidney and liver?

Protein in urine?: How do you know if you have proteinuria (p) in your urine? Did you have p in the past? You need to have a dip stick to check for p and, if present, you need to have a 24 hour urine collection to measure your p and kidney function. Go to a doctor to find out. You black stool could be due to iron, if you are taking it. See a doctor to be sure you are not losing blood and are becoming anemic.

pain in lower abdomen on both sides, radiates up towards mid chest, where it burns too. i'm recovering from sepsis. what could be the cause?

See your doctor.: If you are recovering from sepsis, I would not want to guess your current diagnosis. Please see your doctor. It could be a side effect of your medications, but it could be more complicated than that.

can drinking a lot of unsweetened carbonated water such a bubbly elevate liver enzymes?

Accepted Answer

: Overconsumption of carbonated drinks can affect the liver and cause the liver enzymes to increase. However, other things can cause the liver enzymes to go up as well such as alcohol, some medications and infections. All causes need to be eliminated.
