Bruising: Contusions often are blood collections under the skin and in the soft tissue after an injury. These can take hours to several days for the visual effects of the injury to come to the skin (bruising). As long as you have already been evaluated after the accident, the bruises coming out are no extra concern.

i recently visited puerto vallarta and got tons of mosquito bites. a few of them are swelling up a lot and forming bruises that are spreading a lot. should i be worried?

Mosquito bites: Antihistamines would help, besides cleaning the affected areas and applying hydrocortisone cream, use mosquito repellents, more important, is the place you are visiting known for malaria disease? If so are you on malaria prophylaxis? Please visit a local heath facility if this is the case and you aren't taking any precautions, enjoy your trip anyways

Bug bite: Keep an eye on it.  Bruising could be from where you were bit, near venue.  Could be from toxic effect of bug.  If no fever or redness you need to let the bite run its course.

Sounds normal : The hematoma that is deep usually makes more appearance at the skin over 2 to 3 days and over the next week may spread out over the area depending on loose skin and dermis and gravity affects of the areas. Hope this helps and you continue to improve if the area increases pain or warmth and reddness you need to be seen for possible infection.

Bruise : If it is painless and no wound outside , most likely a blood collection that is changing color.

Bite: As long as it wasn't a tick, I would use ice and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for 1-2 days to see if you are feeling better. It it was a tick which would remain attached or is still a problem I 2-3 days or if you are sick in other ways, be seen. All the best.

Purpura?: Is described as: hemorrhagic states characterized by patches of purplish discoloration resulting from extravasation of blood into the skin and mucous membranes.  Sometimes the aging process itself with thinner skin etc. are risk factors alone to get this, however, it is best to have grand mom see her Doctor to get them clinically evaluated and even some labs may need to be done. Warm compress: It sounds like you could have a superficial blood clot in your arm. You could try putting a warm wash cloth on the tender area multiple times per day for relief, then have your family doctor check it out if it persists.

i had bloodwork taken 10 days ago and i now notice that my bruise by my elbow has spread up my arm and is yellow. is this a harmless bruise?

Yes: I'm sorry you got  a bruise; it's mostly luck and putting and keeping a lot of pressure on the site only helps some. This is the normal progression of a bruise. If the elbow moves normally and isn't especially painful, don't worry.
