It depends: Why its there and what it is. As not as it is benign it is okay. Is this something you always had? Did it recently develop? Since, the info provided is limited i would recommend you see a foot doc or dermatologist. When in doubt, a small 2mm biopsy can provide answers.

Vascular related: The coloration in your feet and ankles can many times be related to bloodflow.  In particular, if you keep your feet down, gravity tends to keep the blood in the are, the feet can sometimes swell, but they become discolored, in some instances - blotchy, red.  Elevate your feet to see if the color changes.  If so, then it's normal.  But if you aren't sure, have your feet checked by podiatry.

One would like to know the size, shape, flatness or raised configuration,whether the redness is homogeneous versus multicolored, any change over the years, etc. A physician or dermatologist would need to inspect this blotch in order to advise you.

Possibly  Venous  insufficiency : They give me many reasons why no one your age and what it looks like it's hard to tell, but the first thing that comes to my mind to something called Venous insufficiency. This is where the means or an orange and cannot pump the food out of your ankle. Try elevating your feet above your heart or use compression stockings.

Discolored leg: You should see a physician immediately to have this evaluated.  It will be very important to rule out venous thrombosis, which can be very serious.
