Infection!: Infection of the ear canal, or a middle ear infection that has resulted in tympanic membrane rupture can cause ear discharge that has an unusual color and odor.  This is called otorrhea and needs an evaluation and treatment.

Best to see MD: The ear is actually a closed system. The outer ear can't get to the middle ear due to the tympanic membrane. If there is discharge, either there is an infection , and a bad one in the canal causing it, but more likely an infected middle ear with perforation of the tympanic membrane causing fluid to go through. It is best to be examined and treated right.

Ear discharge: There are several possibilities.  An infection in the outer ear canal could be the cause, but a cold doesn't usually cause this.  For the drainage to be from the middle ear area, it would have to pass through or rupture the tympanic membrane that would be very painful.  Colds  can be complicated by a middle ear infection.  You should call your doctor to be examined so you can receive proper care.

child had grommets inserted few months ago. now has a yellow reddish discharge coming out from both ears what could be the problem?

Infection: Grommets will usually reduce but does not end a kids tendency to middle ear infections. Yellow &amp; reddish drainage suggests a middle ear infection draining into the canal, a canal infection or in rare instances rejection of the grommet. An exam is needed to sort this out.

Interesting question: Usually when someone has a middle ear infection, the pain is caused by pus behind the ear drum, causing the ear drum to bulge.  Once the ear drum perforates, there's no bulging or pressure because the pus is draining through the perforation.  However, this probably needs treatment with ear drops and/or oral antibiotics.  
The short answer is:  this patient needs to see a doctor and get treatment!

Your question is ???: This sounds like something appropriate for a followup office visit. Kids with perforated drums after an otitis will often heal over time but some require patching. Sounds like any initial treatment has not fixed the problem.

Infected sebaceous: cyst or abscess. This will requoire medical/surgical evaluation and antibiotic therapy. Call for an immediate appointment.
