please help me . i did the stool test, blood test and biospy were negative h.pylori.but breath test was positive.what to do?

Strange: I assume the doctor ordered these tests to evaluate your "heartburn," which is confusing to me. H. pylori is a bacterium that can cause chronic antral gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. I would have an extremely low pretest probability for either of these diseases in a 28 year-old. The breath test yields few false positives. The other tests are very sensitive, with very few false negatives.

whats the difference between the h. pylori breath test and the h. pylori blood test?

Different: The breath test looks for presence of the active infection and presence of the bacteria in your stomach. It can be used to test to see if you are cured after treatment. The blood test checks for an antibody that is produced by your body after being exposed to the bacteria. It, however, will always be present and cannot be checked to see if you cured the infection.

H Pylori Treatment : Following H Pylori treatment, the most important part of management is to know if a patient is having bloating, or pain suggestive of incompletely treated infection. Urea breath test is often done to determine eradication of the bug; IgG blood test is not helpful after treatment as the test may remain elevated for an indefinite period of time once someone is diagnosed with H Pylori.

Treat it: The positive H. pylori antibody test is not a reliable indicator of current infection. The gold standard for H. pylori treatment is the gastric biopsy, and this is negative in this patient. However, I am impressed by the positive breath test and erosive gastritis.  I would have expected stool antigen to be positive, as it mirrors the breath test. Given the discrepant results, treat the patient.

Bloating: With normal GI work up may be related to habit of swallowing air or eating of certain food that cause gas or lactose intolerance if milk is part of regular diet

Breath test can be used to prove active infection as well as that you've been cured. Blood test can only prove that you've been infected but can't distinguish between active & past infection.

Yes: The best tests for h pylori infection are the breath and the fecal testing. These are able to distinguish between active and past infections which the blood antibody testing is not.

Unlikely: For the  swallow urea labelled with  either radioactive carbon-14 or non-radioactive carbon-13. Subsequently the detection of isotope-labelled carbon dioxide in exhaled breath due to splitting of urea indicates that urease is present in the stomach, and therefore that h. Pylori bacteria are present. This should not produce diarrhea.

Easier 4 you: The breath test costs twice as much as the stool test and the blood test even more. The breath test is newer and may not be available where you were tested but most likely, whoever is paying for your test decided it wasn't worth the extra expense.

im currently taking mastic gum and dgl. im planning on doing urea breath test for h pylori in a few weeks. will these supplements interfere the test?

Not exactly but...: Mastic gum is an effective treatment for H. pylori so hopefully it will eliminate H. pylori overgrowth from your stomach. Thus, taking it should significantly reduce the chance of the test being positive. In that sense it may "interfere" with the test by curing you before the test, but won't result in inaccurate results. If the test is still positive it will suggest you need additional treatment.
