my 6mo old baby head and arms start to shake when breastfeeding and falling to sleep, is that normal? it stops when i touch him or deattach  of breast

Normal: Very normal in infants; however, definitely check with your pediatrician if shaking becomes persistent or more severe.

petechiae on abdomen/arms/upper legs. no other sxs. breast feeding 4mo old.it is small tiny red spots some are raised not painful.no fevers md visit?

Good idea: Although sometimes they can be from supplements, medications, and scratching, it is better to be sure and see your doctor. There are scary infectious diseases that cause petechiae, vasculitis, and the need is more urgent with a fever.

my daughter is 1 month and 1 week. she has a rash on her belly and arms and shoulders. if its not the soap could it be what im eating and it being i breast feed her?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: This time of year in a newborn the most common causes of this are heat rash (miliaria) or irritation from clothing or detergents.  She would have to be seen to be sure of the diagnosis.

i am breastfeeding and my right breast is in a lot of pain. i can't touch it nor barely move my right arm. what's wrong with it?

Breast pain with nur: Mastitis is one concern, an infection.  Please see your OB for this.

i have a ringworm spot on my arm that has now spread onto my ribcage and breasts, i am breastfeeding my 3 month old and am having awful anxiety as to weather or not this is ok? i am currently using otc cream for ringworm?

: You should continue to breast feed you baby and make sure your baby's clothes are separated from your used (not yet washed) clothes. OTC cream won't hurt your baby via breast milk.

i finished breastfeeding 4 months ago. now, i have a pain under my left armpit/breast area and my left arm from my elbow to pinky finger keeps going numb. what should i do?

Chiro: Sounds like it may be musculoskeletal . Not unusual to have issue when breastfeeding. See your chiropractor.

will the birth control that is implanted in the arm decrease my milk supply or cause any harm to my 3 week old. breast feed only?

No and No: No the small amount of hormones excreted into the milk does not have any affect on supply or any harm to baby.

i am 32 & stopped breastfeeding 5 months ago. i have had a breakout on the side of my breast for about two months. i have popped it twice but it keeps coming back or its still a semi-hard bump that seems to just be slightly under the skin. concern?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described suggests a low grade infection. It would be prudent to see a doctor.

Usually: If the painful spot is not an ulcer, it is ok, but you should follow this spot. If it increases, stays painful, or you develop fever, please see a practitioner to eval for possible breast infections (mastitis).

i have a weird lump on my boob, i've been breastfeeding my son for 16 months. it's red with semi-peely skin my breasts are not tender they are not firm they're not hot to the touch, i have had mrsa before .. help, what could it be?

Breast mass ?'s: Mastitis while nursing is common, and a "lump" with "red, semi-peely skin" may represent a small abscess. See your gyn physician for an exam and treatment.
