i had my routine breast check up by doctor after which i was recomended ultrasound of both breast but my r.breast is causing pain what medicines i use?

Breast pain is commo: Breast pain is very common. Pain is associated with cancer rarely. I would be much more concerned if you have an abnormality that  is lump like that you could point at with one finger.

30 y.old.female.local pain on upper left breast,on the side of the sternum.mild, hurts when i apply pressure or lie on it like a bruise but no bruise!not sure if breast,muscle or rib related.had breast check up ultrasound 20 days ago and was normal?

: It is likely costochondral pain due to costochondritis or due to heavily use those joints by the unusual activity on the previous day. This pain can be elicited by pressing on the joint (close to the breast bone) or over expanding your chest. You can take Ibuprofen 400 - 600 mg with full stomach as a trial. If pain is relieved, you have the right answer. It should get better in a day or two.

A thorough exam: & review of most recent tests. Ask what the tests mean. What's your next step of care ? The cancer is about you and you deserve to know what is going on and why. Ask any questions to understand. If more blood tests are ordered, ask what they will tell you. The same for x-rays or ct cans. If you think of questions, write them down and take w you. Call office to ask any q's that come up later.

Two questions?: Was the lump 3 years ago biopsied? And, do you feel a lump in your breast today? If the first question is no and the second yes get a second opinion and if needed a fine needle  biopsy.

my obgyn no longer does breast exams during my check up stating that its no longer really necessary since i get mammos and ultrasounds. i thought the doctor was required to do it as precautionary. is that a new medical recommendation?

: No that is not a new recommendation. Breast examination by your OBGYN is a mainstay in determining if there are any initial abnormalities. Of course your breast self exam monthly is also recommended. Diagnostic studies such as ultrasound for breast cysts and mammograms for breast lesions do not replace a breast mass by initial  examination by the MD or yourself which can often pick up early cancer

my breasts are very tender and painful on the sides close to my armpits. should i be worried & have it checked out?

NOT: to worry!  BUT

GET IT CHECKED OUT  it may be something as simple as a hormonal imbalance or unwanted effect of an oral contraceptive....I assume you are not possibly pregnant (this also may produce these symptoms!
