: The origin points towards musculoskeletal (when bending) and in such cases work up should include spine as pain is many times radiated along the ribs. Lung pathology, including effusions may cause similar symptoms as well. Otherwise good to know that heart is strong and is not the reason for the symptoms.

Costochondritis: This could be costochondritis which is inflammation of the joints where the ribs attach to the sternum. Try an anti-inflammatory like motrin. However, it could be something more serious and certainly warrants a visit with your doctor.

: Costochondritis is an inflammation. Sometimes there is shortness of breath because as you expand the ribs there is movement in the irritated area so there is pain . I don't know of any association with  being overweight.

Rheumatoid Disorder: At your age of 22, if you do not have a history of spine trauma or repetitive stress to the area, it sounds like you may have a rheumatolgical disorder.  The typical ones at your age may be scheuermann's disease, ankylosing spondilitis or even diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis.  Either way to be really sure you may want to see a rheumatologist if your primary doc hasnt figured it out yet.

See answer: Costochondritis usually causes pain and tenderness over the anterior (front) ribs near the breast bone. It wouldn't cause pain in the hips. If by "back of ribs" you mean the ribs in the back of your chest coming from your spine, costochondritis doesn't cause pain there either. Tenderness in the hip may be due to a form of tendonitis/bursitis of the hip.  See your physician for proper diagnosis.
