The : The short answer here is you need to be tested for herpes.  In addition, if you get a "boil" have a herpes culture done on the actual lesion. 
As far as your boyfriend is concerned, he may have tested positive for hsv 2, however it is possible that he never had a lesion before. He was likely exposed to it at some point in his life.

Location,sex active?: "boils" can be due to localized infection of skin, ingrown hair, pus pocket (abscess), , may actually be enlarged lymph nodes due to infection, lymphoma (cancer of lymph nodes), inflammation, can be a manifestation of sexually transmitted diseases like chancroid, lgv, syphilis, etc.. Get checked out, even if not sexually active.

See doc: A boil (carbuncle, abscess, furuncle) sometimes pops on its own successfully but sometimes not, as in your case.  Don't keep squeezing it!  Use hot compresses (hot towels, heating pad) for 30 minutes every couple of hours and see a doc today to see if it needs to be drained in the office and whether or not antibiotics might help for a time (depends on cause).  Take some tylenol (acetaminophen) now &amp; take it easy.

Please see your doc: Without actually seeing it, you may very well have a small abscess that may need to be properly treated, possibly even drained. I do not recommend trying to lance it yourself, as there may be loculations that need to be explored and you could infect yourself or injure yourself further. Please see your doctor right away so it can get taken care of. (sorry, I can't find a pic of the pelvis and boil)

Read on: Hot soaks either by direct immersion of the area or by applying hot wet packs to the area frequently (every several hours) will bring this to a head which will rupture and drain. If this does not work you may need to be treated with antibiotics. See your doctor. Do not squeeze these. If they have to be opened a sterile needle or a scalpel will be needed.  If in the pelvic area may suggest std.

this could be an inflamed cyst, small abscess, or clogged Bartholin's gland. A gynecologist or dermatologist can usually make the diagnosis with a visual exam.  If necessary, surgical drainage of a cyst or abscess could be done, or an excision of the bump, if it is determined that a biopsy is needed.  It is unlikely that it is a tumor, but it would be wise to have a proper exam done of the bump, as soon as possible.

STD: Nope. There is no std that takes ten months to show up. And, a boil is not a symptom or indication from any common stds.
