the veins under and on the sides of my tounge are dark purple and dark blue and hurts very bad and has been like this over 24 hours and i have a sore throat but the sore throat has subsided a bit in the past week?

Veins: Since veins carry unoxygenated blood the veins under the tongue can look quite purple. I suspect that the tongue soreness is part of the throat infection. Try bathing the tongue in warm salt water or with maalox for relief. Since your sore throat is improving it is probably a viral rather than strep infection.

i have a blue vein that runs up the middle of my neck (slightly to the right) to my chin. its blue and doesnt pulsate or anything. i am a thin person. is it normal to see a vein like this?

That is : Most probably your external jugular vein seen in certain people you shout, or blow into a trumpet. It means nothing.

However in people who have heart problems or other chest pathology  any little effort even speaking can make those veins on the side of your neck to bulge. To be sure go to check it out, see a professional.

No: In small children especially the external jugular vein (there are two, internal and external) can bulge a bit at times, indicating a good amount of blood return. Especially when he's turned the right way and the muscle and lymph nodes are all visible. This is something we see often, and is innocent in nature.

Yes: Our veins carry blood that has had most of the oxygen removed from it -- that's why it looks blue.  We often will notice something about our body that we haven't before -- that is normal.  The best way to know if it is OK, is to see your doctor.  If you're not worried, and no one else has noted, take a "selfie" of your neck, so you can watch for any change.  If there is something, see your Dr.

i have a vein running up my neck to my chin. it is blue but not real bright. it is visible though. it is slightly right to the middle of my neck. im 43 had an echo, blood work, and ekg recently for pvcs. should i be concerned? is it normal to see?

Maybe bad valves : One reason is xs fluid or poor heart function. However at your age if you are in good health and active , poorly functioning valaves in the veins of your legs may cause blood to pool there . This would not explain the veins in .your arms and neck Sometimes normal veins arr prominent in thin people

Vein: If I am not mistaken, you may be referring to the jugular veins that course along your neck muscles and may become engorged with blood during periods of anger and stress and are fairly common.
