It depends: The high blood pressure and tachycardia(rapid heart rate)are common after surgery due to stress and not necessarily indicators or causes of a blood clot. However, some people do in fact develop a blood clot after surgery and a rapid heart rate might be a sign warranting further evaluation.

had my gallbladder out last month two weeks later i have blood clots in both lungs was placed on 10 milligrams twice a day eliquis for a week then 5 mg twice a day then a diuretic ? why am i not peeing like people say i should? ugh surgery sucks?

: I am sorry about your bad news. Remember, this anticoagulant just prevents more blood clots in your body but it does not dissolve the old clots, your body will do it but it takes time. Because of clotted vessels in your lungs, pressure is high in your lungs which causes right heart failure so diuretic was given. You need a higher dose of diuretic, salt &amp; fluid restriction are of equally important.

how long do you have to go off blood thinners before you can get your gallbladder out? is there a greater chance to get a blood clot?

Yes: It is routine problem , surgeon coordinates with medical team , if feasible blood thinners are briefly discontinued  and  will  administer again few hrs after surgery.

physicals done by 4 er docs for chest pain in last 4 mths & they all say anxiety- ekgs, chest xrays, ultrasound of heart & gallbladder, lots of bloodwork on heart & blood clots each visit. normal results every time, most recent visit 3 wks ago.

Anxiety shows itself: In may ways.  Once can mentally obsess over things that frighten the person or do behaviors to keep danger away, e.g., ritual behaviors, checking and re-checking.  Physically there can be heart palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, sleeplessness, etc.  Please go to a mental health professional for support if you think you have an anxiety disorder.

No it is not: Maybe it is caused by a urinary catheter placed during surgery.  If it persists, you need to call your surgeon.

i just had gallbladder surgery 6 weeks ago and i just had a blood test and my placelet was 405 is that reason to be concern?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a high platelet count could be due iron deficiency from blood loss at surgery. Take oral iron and multivitamin supplements and retest in 6 months.

what would happen if i needed gallbladder surgery and i am on effluent blood thinners? i had 4 heart stents feb 2012.

Depends : Depends , if you don't  have symptoms, not causing any complications , able to eat with minimum discomfort most likely your doctors will observe you. Or if you all the above and more will asses your cardiac status with tests , coordinate with your cardiologists, stop the blood thinners remove the gb and restart your blood thinners, you are at a higher risk  but still risk is not that high.

Perhaps: Constipation is common post surgery, especially with the use of narcotic pain medications.  This can lead to excessive mucous production and could cause bleeding hemorrhoids or a tear called an anal fissure.  All GI bleeding should be investigated to some degree, however, as rectal bleeding is never normal.  You should discuss this with your doctor or surgeon.

No: need to be alarmed. Give it few days and if it persists,follow up with your doctor.It is not an emergency.

im having gallbladder surgery on the 12 . my blood test are as follows . mean platelets volume 10.9,hemoglobin 11.6,mchc 30.9,globulin3.6, are these ok to go ahead and have surgery ? no one has addressed this with me ?

: Your surgeon or the anesthesiologist should or will review this before surgery. You can also call the surgeon and remind her/him
