Granulation tissue: Granulation tissue is scar tissue that has increased blood supply. This can cause vaginal bleeding. 

Also if you arent oh hormone therapy, you likely have atrophic vaginitis which can cause bleeding as well. 

Your doctor can evaluate you and see what the cause is.

does a hysterectomy bring on symptoms of menopause? my doctor is recommending a hysterectomy to deal with my severe fibroids and bleeding; she calls it "surgical menopause." will i have symptoms of menopause like hot flashes after the surgery?

If : If your ovaries are removed that causes a "surgical menopause". Some women have many symptoms from menopause including hot flashes, but there are also many women who have no significant symtoms.

can a woman still have a clitoral orgasm if she has a hysterectomy? im going to have my uterus removed, too much bleeding monthly along with pain. im keeping my ovaries, that should help with not going through early menopause, right? thanks.

Orgasm, yes: clitoral, and vaginal if able before. The uterus contributes to orgasmic sensations, but if you have pain and bleeding, the postop orgasm may better. Ovaries keep making hormones, if they are healthy, keeping them is reasonable.

: Most common causes are vaginal atrophy, uterine fibroids or polyps; however, malignancy needs to be ruled out. You should see a GYN doctor for a full evaluation.

Post : Post menooausal bleeding must always be assesd by a doctor. The doctor will perform a pap smear, a pelvic exam and may do a blood test to investigate any hormonal changes. The bleeding can be attributed to hormone changes, the presence of polyps on the cervix or endometrial cancer.

Yes: An incidental finding of a slightly thickened uterine lining is not a major emergency.  It sounds like your doctor has carefully evaluated you and not found a problem.  Unless there is more to the story that I don't know, a hysterectomy seems like a bit of an overkill--like cutting a tomato with a chain-saw when a paring knife would do.  Best wishes!

Hysterectomy: A hysterectomy is a fairly standard procedure for most Obgyns. You can ask your surgeon if they feel that a referral to a gyn oncologist is needed. Without a cancer diagnosis most hysterectomies are done by Obgyns.

Depends on ovary: Hysterectomy is removal of uterus. If they take out your ovary (you have 2 ovaries in body) if both are removed you can have menopause. Usually they leave one ovary in during hysterectomy - if this is done for bleeding issues instead of problem with ovary like cyst etc so if you have one ovary no you would not have menopause if you removed both ovaries with uterus then yes you would have menopause.
