sigmoid polyp removed in colonoscopy. got 2nd gi's opinion  + 2nd scope 3 months later. he saw colitis in sigmoid, but biopsies normal. both gis diagnosis me w ibs. how am i still bleeding and having fevers?

IBS: You may have inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis or crohs disease. You need a colonoscopy to see if your disease is located higher in your colon. You mave abcess formation as well as friable tissue causing bleeding and fevers.

my colonoscopy biopsy shows colonic mucosa with reactive lymphoid aggregates.  i was having bleeding & mucous.  uc or crohn's?  or normal?

Nonspecific finding: Lymphoid aggregates are commonly found in the colon and small bowel.  They are a normal finding. Excessive lymphoid aggregates could be related to infections or ibd but they are relatively a nonspecific finding, especially if the other features of ibd are not present.

had a colonoscopy. and they found a 6mm polypoid at the ileocecal valve.
the notes on my paper say 
the lesion was polypoid, no bleeding. mucosa was biopsied for histology

should i be concerned about this?

Biopsy results: What did the biopsy show. A polypoid lesion can be many things from a fat pad to carcinoma. You and your doctor may wish to talk to the pathologist who examined the biopsy specimen.

: Need to discuss with your gastroenterologist.  MAY indicate you have inflammatory bowel disease but from your description can’t tell if it’s Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s Disease.  Differentiation very important.  Again, check with gastroenterologist

: You can have disease that is not apparent to the naked eye. It may be microscopic in nature and too early to cause a change in your blood work.

NSAID, etc.: The most common reason for ulcers in the intestines is from nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (nsaids, ibuprofen, naproxen, et.). Other possibilities include crohn's disease, or many other possibilities, including infections.  If this is NSAID induced, the treatment is avoidance of nsaids. If this is infection, it will resolve. But if it's crohn's, you need specific medical therapy.

Few days at most: Usually there is no visible bleeding after a biopsy on colonoscopy if there is should be more than a few hours.

Yes: It is normal especially after colonoscopy with biopsy. However profuse bleeding or significant symptoms like dizziness may an indication for complications

Await biopsy report: The biopsy report should give you the answer or at least suggest several possibilities for your physician to consider. The source of bleeding can be as simple as hemorrhoids but can also be a local ulcer or something more aggressive.

Probably hemorrhoids: You need to ask the GI doctor for their rationale for repeating colonoscopy procedure within one year if symptoms haven't changed and they made the diagnosis already. The focus should be on controlling bleeding from hemorrhoids.
