Not necessarily: No but it might sting a bit until fully healed if you try to drink wine or acid or salty foods with a freshly pierced tongue.

See dentist: Could be canker sore, small ulceration that is tender, heals in 7-10 days; trauma from teeth; superficial or deeper abnormality; much less likely referred pain, etc. Smoker? Hpv? White lesion? Seedentist first. If need biopsy, oral surgeon.

i have a strange sensation on the tip of my tongue, like i've been eating lemon or lime wine gums, it doesn't go away n make me feel a bit sick!

Vague: Hard to say without a thorough history and exam.  Duration, frequency, cause, severity?  Could be an inflamed taste bud.  I would see a dentist and have it evaluated.

i'm 41f,never-smoker and social drinker.had an oral biopsy for a white lesion on the side of my tongue and it is mild dysplasia with hyperkeratosis.how bad is this?likely to turn to cancer? will it be safe to socially drink wine or champagne, or no?

: translation= the area is irritated tissue &amp; got thicker; beyond that it is negative for cancer. We never say never in medicine, but this is the kind of report I would want in this setting.

why does wine burn my throat? i've had dry mouth, dry tongue and swallowing foods seem a little abnormal now because of the way jaw lets me chew.

Xerostomia: Do a bit of research on the term "xerostomia", then go see your dentist and/or ent.  Dry mouth is treatable and does reduce your quality of life in dramatic ways.  First things first, drink plenty of water daily and avoid caffeine in any form (coffee, tea, sodas, etc).  Do not smoke!  wine is also a diuretic and will dry your mouth and body, sorry!  if this doesn't work, your dmd will help further.

Dry mouth: It could be the alcohol-- it dries out your mouth. You should stay away from mouth rinses that contain alcohol.

Mouth ulcers: These ulcers in the mouth can be caused by herpes Type I, and can be recurrent with other illness or just by itself. Wine can aggravate it due to its acidity, so best to avoid citrus, spicy and acidic foods when eating and drinking. You can get checked with labs for this and treated with Acyclovir (script) if indicated for each episode that occurs from your internist/GYN MD. It is unlikely Mono/EB

: Please find help for your alcohol binging to prevent these symptoms from returning and becoming worse. Your Doctor can advise if you need to be in a hospital to detox or if you can do this as an outpatient with psychotherapy from a Clinical Psychologist and medication by a Psychiatrist.

This : This condition is typically called "black, hairy tongue".  Some of the causes include antibiotic use, smoking, poor oral hygiene, and drinking coffee.  I would recommend brushing the tongue twice daily and avoidance of possible causes.  If not improved after a few days, consider seeing your physician for further evaluation.  I hope that helps!

Can be normal: Black dots on a baby's tongue would most likely be due to some increased pigmentation. This can be considered normal and is usually found more commonly in darker-skinned individuals. It also can be considered hereditary. However, you should probably mention it to your pediatrician next time you have a visit, or if the baby seems bothered by it, have it checked out sooner.
