please help. now i'm taking 50 mg metroprolol and suddenly all my fingers turn grayish-blue/black! i've never been like this before. what happened?

I do not know: BUT the discoloration of your fingers is concerning for some possible vascular (Blood flow) issues within your fingers,, so you need to see the Dr. as soon as possible and get that evaluated.  If you are not allergic to it or do not have any contraindications to aspirin, then start taking an 81mg until you call the Dr. for an appt asap.  best wishes.

Ganglion?: Most likely a ganglion  cyst arising from the wrist joint or a tendon sheath. Could also be a thrombosed vein based on your description you should seek out an examination

That could be one: Sign. If in doubt - seek medical eval. An x-ray can rule in or rule out a fracture.

Immediate MD: 56 year old lady with dizziness, vertigo, painless blue digit. You need immediate full history and medical exam, you may have arrhythmia causing your dizziness and throwing emboli to your finger. At the very least, dangerous causes need to be ruled out ASAP. There are less dangerous causes as well such as vasospasm, Raynaud's phenomenon. See MD as soon as possible please. Good luck.

See a doctor: You might need to see either your regular doctor or go to the ER you might broke your finger I mostly concern about the blood supply to your finger and of there is any nerve damage or not apply icy use finger splint take NSAIDS like Ibuprofen up to 600-800mg every 6-8 hours with meal please see a doctor thank you and good luck

I would encourage: You to have this injury checked medically. If your last tetanus shot was  more than 10 years ago or you aren't sure when it was, then it is time for another one.  Concerned by your description of finger - would want to rule out infection.

Likely clotted: The blood is likely clotted by now and will not drain by pricking. Pricking as self treatment is not recommended anyway as it is likely to introduce infection.

This : This sounds like a problem with your arterial circulation.  If these events are associated with cold temperatures, you may have raynaud's syndrome.  In raynaud's, the small  arteries in the hands and feet are hypersensitive to cold and go into spasm.  The treatment is to keep the extremities warm.  On the other hand, it's possible that you may be experiencing some blood clots in the small vessels. If this involves just one hand, it may be that you have an abnormality in the artery upstream that is "throwing" clots. If that's the case, the problem area should be fixed with an angioplasty or bypass, and you may need to take blood thinners.

The argument against what i've described is that the discolored areas caused by blocked arteries are usually painful.
