6 mos-1yr: Bitewings are "check up" xrays and in some offices are done every 6 mos, in others, every year (i am not referring to how often your insurance will pay for them).....However, a cavity can form in as little as 4 months, so it may be necessary to take one in between your normal check up.

dental digital radiographs: how do they get transferred to my new periodontist. do i physically handle them or are they transferred via computer?

Digital x-rays: Email works, files on a disc works  or they can be printed.  We prefer email so they are already in our computer and we can print when needed.

i recently had an elbow dislocation and was placed again at the moment it happens. the radiographs were okey. right now i have a swelling all over?

Accepted Answer

Thats quite normal.: The swelling can and will persist for up to 2 months, and even more, depending how severe the injury was. 
Follow your orthopedist's advise.
Taking Ibuprofen or aleve, (naproxen) or something else for swelling would help. Supervised therapy will be greatly beneficial.
Compression bandage, like a heelbo would help with swelling and to protect it.

what can take the place of so many radiographs for a full mouth series xrays when dentist has no panoramic or cbct machine?

Clinical Exam: What is your dentist monitoring? Periodontal disease? Interproximal caries? Crown margins? A good clinical exam can supplement radiographs, but they still provide a valuable tool in diagnosing dental issues.

New patient exam: My new patient  is where i evaluate ; chart every tooth (for decay, fracture, defect) and restoration, oral soft tissue examination / velscope (tongue, throat, cheeks, etc), periodontal examination (for pocket depths, bleeding points, plaque, tartar, tooth mobility), diagnodent (laser decay detection), full mouth or panoramic radiograph and full mouth photographs.   If in doubt talk to the dentist.

why can't a cerebral hemotoma be seen on a conventional radiograph?

Brain hematoma: Remember your brain is protected in its entirety by the skull which is dense bone. The density of the surrounding bone keeps you from appreciating hematoma on a regular xray. 
CT and MR are far more advanced in their ability to characterize the brain tissue even though surrounded by bone.

90: Sitting upright at 90 degrees. Machine parallel or slightly upward to the plain of the floor.

Accepted Answer

: Radiologists may perform studies slightly different.  HSG stands for HysteroSalpingogram.  As far as the "control" radiograph, I assume it is what we commonly call a "scout' film.  An x-ray over the abdominal area before contrast is injected into the uterus, which in this case appeared normal."Free spill" of contrast generally indicates the fallopian tubes are open, no evidence of blockage.
