Cellular toxicity: There are likely many mechanisms of action but it is perhaps most important to mention that excessive acetaldehyde and alcohol that accompanies binge drinking is cytotoxic and can lead to cellular death and injury.  The biochemical mechanism likely involves oxidative stress and protein denaturation.  There is also the metabolic damage that binge drinking does in terms of calories.  Stay safe!

: Not feasible to comment on whether there is any damage from your prior drinking.  Suggest you discuss this with your doctor.  The blood tests are reassuring but may not fully evaluate internal organs, such as liver, pancreas, kidney.  Obtain your doctor's opinion regarding alcohol in your specific case.

Liver issue. : As you’ve repeated the enzyme tests and found elevated levels again, it’s time for a work-up. You need blood testing for infectious, genetic, inflammatory or metabolic issues. You also need an ultrasound to image the liver and surrounding structures. As your levels have remained high, this work-up is necessary.

could you tell if methotrexate damaged your liver after binge drinking and instantly stop taking the medication at 2.5 mlg would it show up in your blood test or what ever test or could it hide the fact that you have liver damage i heard it cant?

: You likely should not combine methotrexate with binge drinking. You would need to check liver function tests in your blood work to see if there is any evidence of liver injury. It also may be helpful to have either a CT scan or ultrasound to see what your liver looks like. There are liver specialists who can take care of you if there is any evidence of liver damage. Doctor can evaluate: Alcohol is toxic to living tissues (we humans happen to be a complex glob of living tissues), so avoid drinking too much. One's primary care doctor can evaluate to see if the alcohol knocked off some important cells in the body. It such a situation, it may be a good idea to stop alcohol, unless one is a daily drinker and at risk for withdrawal symptoms.

Alcohol and BP: Hi. Alcohol can cause or worsen high blood pressure. My advice is get your blood pressure well treated. Drinking with high blood pressure is OK as long as: 1) your BP is well controlled, and 2) you're not an alcoholic (i.e., drink in moderation).

Maybe: Actually drinking as little as a half-cup of green or oolong tea daily may lower the risk of high blood pressure. The polyphenols in this type of tea help combat high blood pressure. However drinking tea may lessen the effects of some medications used to treat high blood pressure, so please check this out with the prescribing doctor. Best of luck with your health!

Not recommended: Beer contains quite a lot of sodium.  No beer would be recommended while taking blood pressure medication.
