Root Canal / Extract: Most sever toothaches are a sign that the pulp is infected or necrotic (dying and liquifying) & pressure is building up that is pressing inside on nerve, bone or the underside of the gum. Root canal therapy can often save the tooth, but a post/core & crown will be needed.  Decay can give minor toothaches & dentists treat with a filling. Otc pain pills may work, but see a dentist asap/.

A Dentist: Generally dental pain arises with the inflammation from infection. This inflammatory pain responds well to the normal naids like Ibuprofen and naproxen.If you let the infection go, it can spread into the bone, sinuses or the brain. A dentist will clean out the infection and seal the source of infection if possible. You also probably need an old fashioned antibiotice like pennicilin.

Wisdom teeth: Best treatment is extraction and untill then use NSAID measn something like Aleve (naproxen) or ibuprofen, and you need to check with dentist as it may be impacted or caried!

Sorry : Sorry to hear about your problem.

The antibiotics can take a day to really start working, so you need to give them some time. My concern is that you have not stopped swelling. It could be that you may need a different antibiotic, or the abscess my need to be drained to help the antibiotics fight off the infection.

The best thing is to see the oral surgeon today, but if that is not possible, you need to go back to the emergency room to be reevaluated.

I'm : I'm not sure what your question is, since you did not ask one. All you did was list your symptoms.

What i can tell you is that you have a severe infection secondary to a tooth which is probably non vital. This needs to be treated by a dentist to control the infection, and then restore or extract the tooth. The swelling under your tongue is very serious, since it can quickly expand into the soft tissues, resulting in your tongue being pushed back and blocking your airway.

Your problem can become life threatening in a very, very short period of time. You need to see a dentist asap (today) to be evaluated, or go to your local emergercy room.

Please do not wait.

Tylenol (acetaminophen): tylenol/acetaminophen. also see if your oral surgeon/dentist will prescribe a weak narcotic

OTC Meds: Unfortunately, as teeth move during orthodontic treatment, there is some discomfort.  I would suggest taking an over the counter med as tolerated.  Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen and Aspirin are some options.

Lots of things: Switch from Panadol (acetaminophen) (extra-strength Tylenol) to 1-2 200mg Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) 4x/day w full meal or lots of liquids.  Rinse w 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water 3x/day.  Put Orthodontic Wax onto the "stickers."  Dab Orabase-B onto sore spots w Q-Tip.  Eat soft high-protein diet for repair building-blocks.  Ask your Orthodontic Specialist for other suggestions.

so i got all 4 of my wisdom teeth  was put on heavy pain killer can this be the reason for my late perils thanks.

What perils: having all four wisdom teeth out can be miserable. Once the swelling is down, and pain subsides, you should be able to switch to just tylenol (acetaminophen) for discomfort and continue icing.
