whats the best advice to gain my voice back ? i have chest congestion, a cough, and mucus. i havent drinking any medicine yet , unsure on which one i need to help me get better ?

: Soothing warm liquids and honey are often effective in reducing hoarseness Post nasal drip mat lead to cough. Nasal saline spray may be helpful. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and fever. Stay well hydrated and rest.

Hearing voices: Following thorough psychiatric assessment & diagnostic evaluation, recommendation is made to start antipsychotic medications (if voices are due to psychotic disorder), mood stabilizers (if voices are due to a mood disorder) , or refer to pcp to evaluate medical causes for the hallucinations & treat the underlying causes.

Any!!: Hoarseness of the voice  (dysphonia) is related to your voice box food should not affect it if you have a sore throat food with a soft consistency are preferred.

Yes...: Given your regimen, I am generally aware of your diagnosis--which I won't disclose for privacy concerns. Many over-the-counter cough and cold remedies have the side effect of increasing blood pressure. This would not generally be a concern in your case, unless blood pressure becomes &gt;140/90. Whichever over-the-counter medication you choose, consult with your pharmacist for any interactions.

Cough does....: Cough medicine itself likely doesn't cause a raspy voice but coughing can. Coughing can cause irritation and inflammation of the vocal cords as can certain infections of the upper airway, like viral infections that cause the common cold and flu. If the raspiness does not resolve once the coughing stops, or if it is worsening, then see your doctor for diagnosis/treatment.

i always mumbled as kid & now slur. mainly self esteem issues. if it was tongue issue caused by als, ms, stroke would i be able to change voice tone?

You would still be : able to change vocal pitch, tone &amp; loudness if solely a tongue issue. If you're concerned about low oral motor muscle tone &amp;/or weakness, a neurological exam will reveal these. If you had mild dyspraxia, or Developmental Coordination Disorder, as well as Developmental Articulation Disorder as a child, it can persist into adulthood. An occupational &amp; a speech/language therapist can still help you.

Need eval: You need to see a Dr. for these symptoms as it is important to make sure you have no neurological issues that could cause some of your symptoms, such as a pinched nerve. And to assure the slurred speech is caused by your tongue issue and not TIA like symptoms, etc. Get EVAL asap. Best wishes.

hard to say: Tuberculous meningitis is an uncommon expression of the infection, and in some cases represents rupture or a pre-existing tuberculoma in the central nervous system.  If she is not in coma, or having dilated pupils, she is not in imminent danger, and some of her problems could reverse with meds and supportive care.  Pt, ot, and speech therapies offer great rehab potential.

Hallucinations: There are specific types of hallucinations that can occur right as you are falling asleep & right as you are waking up. It could fall into that category. However, if you have a sleep disorder & bipolar disorder - to go without treatment is very risky for your health.

Antihistamine?: Sometimes stopping the drippy nose is a best first defense. If the problem is more of a cough, a syrup with dextromethorphan  may be better. Don't overbundle at 70 F, it may overheat your child and make things worse. Humidify the air and keep things around 68-72 F for best results indoors
