Antidepressant : I have heard great things about deplin which is actually only methyl folate (folic acid) and given the over medications in our senior population and with enhanced adverse effects it may be worth trying.

Please : Please have a medical evaluation including an imaging study of your brain.  To have vertigo that long is very concerning and you need a complete neurological evaluation.  Please be seen immediately to have this checked out.

As an aside, hookah gives you 100-200 times the amount of smoke from a cigarette, and users often test positive for higher CEA levels which is concerning for risk of cancer in the future.

Mild anxiety: Antidepressants especially ssri are preferential treatment but if they can not be tolerated, short acting benzodiazepams could be used. Mindful of dependency and adverse effects especially when combined with alcohol and opiods that could be fatal. Counselling, excercise, yoga and meditation other forms interventions that do not require medications could be effective.

SSRIs: Antidepressants called SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) like fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram or escitalopram can alleviate a lot of the symptoms of PTSD. They especially help with the anxiety, moodiness and irritability. Certain blood pressure medications, like clonidine and prazosin can help with insomnia and nightmares. However, therapy is always first and best for PTSD.

None is "best": There are no reliable differences in how well different antidepressants work.  For this reason, they are mostly prescribed on the basis of side-effects.  I.e., more sedating meds when depression interferes with sleep, more activating meds when depression saps daytime energy.  Some are more apt to upset stomach, others to lower sex drive.  Balancing these factors can be subtle.

Not the reason for: the prescription.  The SSRI's are all fair at not increasing the likelihood of weight gain, but are not best for weight loss.  Perhaps Wellbutrin, (bupropion) but I have a small sample size of patients as a measure for weight loss on an antidepressant.  Bear in mind that depression itself often causes weight gain so getting help for your depression at all is likely to help with any weight loss goals you have.

Complicated question: There are not many antidepressants fda approved for children.  The doctor must take each case individually. There is no one corrects swear otr list that should be given. The ages are so broad and tolerances and side egffectes at different ages and problrems I do not thimfk this question should be answered in this format.
