: NO RISK- AT TWO WEEKS HEALING HAS BEGUN TO CLOSE UP EXTRACTION SITE. A DRY SOCKET WOULD HAVE OCCURED WHITHIN A FEW DAYS IF NO BLOOD CLOT HAD FORMED.HAVE A MOLSON ON ME .

Tooth extraction: I usually use an elevator and try to cause the least trauma so there is less post-op pain. Sometimes its nes. To section a tooth or use forcepts. It should be painless.  You may feels a lot of pressure and some crackling sounds are normal. We provide headphones to watch tv during the procedure to remove the sound.

Not sure your ??: If you need an extraction...You'll go to a dentist or oral surgeon (specialist) and they will x ray your tooth(teeth) and determine what needs to be removed.  They will numb you up accordingly, and remove the offending teeth.  It could be a simple extraction or they might need to remove bone or tissue.  They'll know and they will let you know ahead of time.

Soft Diet: Anything soft that you enjoy. Mashed potatoes, soup, a smoothie, fish, cooked vegetables, ice cream, you name it. 
Essentially you need to avoid anything that, once chewed, could possible have a smaller piece which could become lodged in the extraction site and become an irritant, like a potato chip. 
After an extraction you need food in your stomach esp if you are taking medication.

Use gauze: Try changing gauze to keep from drooling. Also keep a supply of tissues handy.

Ibuprofen: Or tylenol (acetaminophen).  Ice can also be a good analgesic.

Pressure: During the procedure, the local anesthetic will eliminate the pain. You will feel pressure. Afterwards, pain. How much pain depends on many factors: the degree of difficulty of the extraction, the location of the tooth, your pain threshold. Make sure you have adequate pain medication.
