Sinusitis: Many times if there is a severe sinus infection 10 days of antibiotics is not enough, and you may have to take it for 14-21 days. If you don't improve, see an ENT doctor, you might need a CT scan.

Strongly : Strongly recommend against a parent giving a child antibiotics without a specific medical indication.  Now a days, doctors don't give antibiotics just because a child's ear hurts. The reason is that often times, there this is not due to a bacterial infection.  I would give your pediatrician a call, for further guidance.

Relax: Mastoiditis as an extension of middle ear disease is a realistic concern for some symptoms but relatively easy to rule out by an in person evaluation. You had one &amp; that's better than submitting vague symptoms online. Follow up with your regular doc as needed.

Acupuncture: This treatment modality is ancient in origin, but has been found to have some utility when tested by modern science.  It is used with some success on today's battlefields as a pain control adjunct for the wounded.  I cannot predict whether it would work for your particular problem, but the downside risks are very low.

4yo is on augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) day 5 for sinus infection double ear infection. and she's still has a juicy bad chronic cough. and junky nose. when will this end?

Sinus infections: often take longer to go away than 5 days. Sometimes they need 2 courses of an antibiotic. Your daughter may also have a concurrent viral infection causing her cough, which certainly can last longer than 5 days. If she is not better after 7-10 days on her medication, or if she is worsening, she should be re-checked by her doctor.

It may be from the sinusitis or there is possibility of Trgeminal Nuralgia depending on what part of face is painful.
Can only be diagnosed after taking detailed History and Physical Exam and if indicated imaging and other teasts

Fairly common: Since most sinusitis is viral, it's not uncommon to have some of the symptoms you described before you get a full blown sinus infection. Symptoms like fever, muscle aches, ear pain, sore throat, nasal congestion with post-nasal drip (possibly the cause of the metallic taste in your mouth) are pretty common, especially this time of year.
